Pulla
Pulla / D R P as he is known in Dorchester. He is a "Jack of All
Trades" growing up in the music industry. He writes his own Rap
music, creates mixtapes and produces his own music, collaborates
with other local artists and now creates his own mix tapes. In
this day and time you have to have more then one skill and pulla
is a SURE package in one rapper/dj /producer just like kanye to
jayz. Pulla is coming with that hard edge rap style from seeing
it, to living it. Letting sucker's know that he ain't fresh out
the house. But at the same time giving you the ups and downs dealing
with crime and drugs coming up in the hood. Its not just about
getting the phat cars and women any more, but owning some property
or building a foundation so your kids can eat later on in life.
Pulla is a legend when it comes to the Boston hip-hop scene. He
has earned his street credits from growing up in the rough parts
of Dorchester and Roxbury.
Pulla always had a fondness for music growing up. As he became
older, he performed with the P.C. Crew, RSO which members where
Orange man, Keve means, Corey means, Tony Rome, Jeff 2 times and
Benzino, who now runs the source with ceo Dave mays. Pulla also
had a group called Disko P & the Fresh M.C. He won some local
talent show contests. He also won Boston's best human beat box
award and was one of the guys who got edo.g started in the rap
game. Some of the artists that have inspired him are P.Diddy,
Master P and Ice Cube. These three artists have inspired him to
take his skills to the next level because these guys are businessmen
as well as artists. Later on with more experience under his belt,
Pulla became more interested in producing music and making his
own beats. He has also performed on the Boston Goes Def album,
as well as battling Biz Markie and performing with LL Cool J and
Krs One. If that wasn't enough, he has performed with Rehabs,
out of Atlanta who was on the Martin Lawrence Blue Streak movie
soundtrack.
Following in the footsteps of his inspired artists, Pulla took
his "Jack of All Trades" motto to the next level. He created a
company called Street Block Entertainment. Not only does he promote
himself with his mixtapes, but he also collaborates with other
artists and produces mixtapes.
The entertainment company he founded is multi-faceted. From producing
artists, creating mixtapes, photography, and marketing the CD's
to the neighborhood, his company keeps very busy. This year alone
he has produced and locally distributed 19 mix tapes.
Pulla's short-term goal is to find a distribution company that
will sign his company Streetblock entertainment & records for
a distribution deal so that he could reach a wider audience and
hopefully let the world see the new flava that Pulla and his Streetblock
entertainment artists can bring to the industry.
